"yesterday and today"

it's certainly no secret that i love old, chippy, distressed things...and images of "yesterday". i'm not sure if i've mentioned recently that i am also a scrapper, albeit an infrequent one (and that's okay). at any rate, i have felt the urge again lately to get back into scrapbooking our life. i think it's partly a result of the coziness of this season - as i sit here writing this, it is raining outside, the wind is blowing, and i have an ill child home from school with me. it's just so cozy.

so today i started a class over at big picture scrapbooking, called yesterday and today. it is taught by ali edwards, a professional scrapbooker whom i greatly admire. she has the ability to make things simple and real and inspirational and very doable. low stress with awesome outcomes. if you've ever considered scrapbooking or even just want to make one single meaningful album (for yourself or to pass on to your loved ones), i would heartily recommend checking out this class. it's not about technique or products or being artsy or not artsy - it's about documenting you.

here are some of my pages from over the past 3 years. i don't look at scrapping so much as being a hobby, but rather recording memories, fleeting moments, and the people, places and things that mean the most to me. that scrapping is very therapeutic for me, and a creative outlet - well, that is just a wonderful bonus:)

i have no ties to anyone in the scrapbooking industry, just so you know:) i'm just thrilled and motivated by this class....

I love Ali Edwards' style, too. Your layouts are beautiful. I'm getting ready to start on my own family books, too. My style has changed so much within these last few years. We'll see what I come up with. :) Her class sounds interesting. I will have to look into it.

Your stuff looks great! It's so addicting, isn't it? I'd love to take a class, just for the discipline of it!
