half the dirt of texas...

was on her feet, and in her eyes, she said...more on that in a minute:)

this precious celluloid picture was perhaps the most i spent on any one item in texas...and i love it - isn't that a darling child? it is a good thing that my purchases were limited to what i could pack in a suitcase or carry-on; next time, i'd prefer a trailer, please!

a beautiful tattered old rose

and how could i resist a book with a title and cover like this? (despite the strip of scotch tape that i can't remove without ruining the graphics...)

one thing you should know prior to venturing to the texas antique shows is that you will walk. a lot. in dirt fields. flip flops tend to leave the feet just a little soiled, as seen in this photo of my niece's feet...i walked into our cozy little room at the bed and breakfast and laughed out loud:) what i don't have a photo of, is the other half of the texas dirt that she said got into her eyes and contacts. (did i mention that one of the days we were there, there were 40 mph winds?)

i have so much to tell and show you about my texas trip - but one thing i did not do was carry a camera around. so i have found a few links to show you just how fabulous the sights are there! it is overwhelming and wonderful and incredible...this was one dealer whose booth i loved! now, these photos of hers are from prior to the show - but she will be posting lots of photos soon, i think. the ironic thing is this - when i happened across her booth, i asked if she sold online, and she said she only had a blog - little did i know that her blog was already in my favorites!!! her displays were wonderful - and it was toward the end of the show and she said things were a mess?!? which leaves me wondering what it usually looks like and what did i miss??? i thought her booth was in the top 10 that i saw - and i saw a lot of fabulous booths:)

and here are a few more gorgeous pictures of the type of displays and offerings to be found at the texas show. i love this blog - and was thrilled to find these photos last night when i finally had some time online:)

more photos of my humble little purchases coming soon!
