sharing old treasures

there's a blog party over at flea market style...i'm so eager to see what others are sharing today! i think that this old scale is remarkably beautiful...i acquired it just a couple of weeks ago from an antique mall at a very reasonable price:)

thrift store find...love the shape and color...and just everything, i guess

i also found beauty in the colors and graphics of this not quite vintage watkins bottle - thrift store, also

a lovely, serene mix of colors, textures and graphics

and just a little peek at my "vintage hydrangeas" in the front yard...rather stark beauty, but beauty nonetheless:)

  1. I bought an old scale too and LOVE IT! Maybe your scale and my scale could be friends? I also have lots of those beautiful dried hydrangeas as my mom grows them. I adore their textures and myriad of pale whites. Great post!
    peace.

  9. I've seen so many scales on the trash to treasure party! I had no idea how popular they are. Nice! I have an old baby scale that I purchased at a yard sale for weighing packages. Maybe I ought to display it!

  10. Your Marysboys drew me over to check you out! I see that you are a hydrangea lover also. I love them at every stage! I also adore your clock. It is a collection that I just started. Which means that you can still find them at garage sales without lugging out your wallet!

    thanks for the peak

  16. I like your grouping of items and my favorite dried flower are hydrangeas. My MIL often lets me cut a bunch from her tree to bring home to dry at the end of the summer.

Love that old scale so much. Was never able to find one at our flemarkets but guess that not in every country the same items used to be in fashion in th past. BTW I come from Italy!
Hope to be able to meet you over at my my blog which you'll find at http://ritashabbychicrose.blogspot.com/

  20. Oh dear, it looks like the frost hit your hydrangea. It hasn't happened here yet but soon and I dread it. I plan to clean up my back deck this afternoon of the bedraggled summer plants but I keep finding all these cool blogs to visit. :) Lynn @ thevintagenest.

  21. I have a few scales...but I passed up a really tarnished and chippy one and now I have regrets :(

I like the way the items blend together....and off subject~your house looks great for Halloween.

The frame with old sheet music is great :)
