ever since i bought this banner on etsy, i've been casually collecting vintage linens here and there. since i don't sew yet, i just have a pretty little pile that recently grew a bit. i was at one of my regular thrift stores just browsing, and it seemed they had quite a few bed linens that caught my eye. the store is very reasonably priced to start with - but it was even more fun when i heard a nearby customer tell her sister that linens were 50% off that day:)
this one reminds me of a set we had when i was very young...70's?
and even though the pink polyester backing is a bit garish, i couldn't resist this little crib quilt.
such a sweet pattern...
Lovely I can feel how soft they are through your pictures! I too love the old well worn ones. I have a few I swiped from my mom and LOVE them! Cannot get new ones like these!

Those are some pretty linens. I love that bright pattern. I think it's probably from the '70s, too.
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about the older linens. I don't know if it's time or the repeated washings, but there is a softness to them that can't be duplicated. Yours are just beautiful.

Old linens do have a much softer feel than the newer ones we get these days. Yours are very pretty!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...when I saw those lovely white and blue flowers, I just had to catch my breath...my Mother had those linens and I wonder if she still does...oh the memories you have just revived!! Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the ones from the 70s! When I was sick my mom would pull out her old sheets that she used in college (also from the 70s!) and I would sleep on them in our big recliner. They had the exact same orange and pinks, only they were a bit more abstract in design - psychadelic might be the word?
